Exteta × Riva. The Feeling Beyond the Ride

The Exteta × Riva outdoor collection, designed by Massimo Castagna, brings the pleasure of Riva into life on land. The film needed to make people feel that connection, beyond the materials and design details shared by the boat and furniture.

Showing a boat beside furniture was not enough. Riva’s appeal comes from being on the water. The collection had to carry something of that feeling into a place where people could spend time.

fffilms.it began with the ride itself. Engine vibration, water pressure, varnished wood, chrome, sunlight and acceleration. These sensations carried Riva’s heritage without needing to explain its history.

The film had to move with Riva. A slow, quiet treatment from beginning to end would have lost the excitement of the ride. Speed, light and movement were essential to what people should feel.

Pacing was key to the film. Fast shots carried Riva’s speed and energy. Longer takes gave the Exteta collection room to breathe, making it a place to imagine staying after the ride.

The edit was refined shot by shot around one rule: slow the destination, not the journey.

For people who knew Riva, the film could bring back a summer, a boat ride or a familiar pleasure. Others could imagine an experience they had never had. Exteta gave that feeling a place in everyday life.

The finished film presents the collection as a continuation of the Riva experience. The boat is the dream in motion. The collection is how that dream stays with you.
