Todd & Duncan. A brand film celebrating Scottish cashmere, people, and place.
This project tells the story of Todd & Duncan through people, landscapes, and daily gestures. A brand film that moves slowly through the Scottish environment, observing work, materials, and nature as interconnected elements of the same culture.
Cashmere is presented not as a product, but as an experience shaped by time, place, and human presence.
Developed as a brand film for Todd & Duncan, the project was conceived to reinforce the company’s identity as one of the most established Scottish cashmere producers. The objective was to highlight heritage and expertise while remaining contemporary and relevant to an international audience.
The film was presented at Pitti Firenze, accompanied by a dedicated exhibition booth designed to translate the same narrative into a physical space.
Todd & Duncan’s production culture is deeply rooted in the Scottish landscape. The film places strong emphasis on Loch Leven and its surroundings, using nature as a visual counterpoint to industrial processes.
Water, light, weather, and silence become narrative elements, reinforcing the relationship between environment and material quality.
At the center of the film are the people behind the process. Portraits and close observations celebrate experience, skill, and continuity, presenting cashmere production as a living practice rather than an abstract supply chain.
This human focus brings authenticity to the brand story, grounding it in real gestures and shared knowledge.
The narrative introduces the Earth Tone Colors collection as a natural extension of this environment. Muted shades, organic tones, and material depth reflect the surrounding landscape, reinforcing coherence between product, place, and identity.
The collection is not announced, but revealed through atmosphere and texture.
The project was presented at Pitti Firenze within a custom exhibition booth. Large-scale printed portraits of people from the production facilities were paired with smaller images of nature around Loch Leven, creating a layered visual experience.
Colors, materials, and spatial elements echoed the film language, ensuring continuity between moving image and physical presence.
From a cinematic perspective, the film avoids voice-over and explanation. Meaning emerges through pacing, framing, and repetition, allowing viewers to absorb the brand values intuitively.
Film and exhibition were developed together as a single narrative system.
The project reinforced Todd & Duncan’s positioning as a producer defined by consistency, integrity, and long-term vision. By focusing on people, environment, and experience, the brand film supported both communication and identity, offering content suitable for exhibitions, presentations, and long-term brand use.
This project demonstrates how brand film can support heritage-driven companies without relying on nostalgia. By translating production culture into a contemporary visual language, the film allows tradition and modernity to coexist naturally.
The result is a narrative that feels grounded, credible, and open to future interpretation.
