This project is an artistic film developed for Barneys New York Tokyo. A visual composition built from fragments of history, production, and fashion, where wool becomes the connecting element between tradition and contemporary expression.

The film moves freely between archive, material, and human presence, creating a layered and sensorial narrative.

Created as part of the Barneys New York Special Project with Vitale Barberis Canonico, the film was conceived to translate textile heritage into a contemporary retail and fashion context.

The objective was to create a cinematic language capable of connecting manufacturing excellence, innovation, and garment design within a single, cohesive narrative.

Vitale Barberis Canonico’s heritage plays a central role in the film. Images from the company’s historical archive and textile library are interwoven with present-day production, establishing continuity between past and future.

These references ground the project in over three centuries of wool expertise, without relying on nostalgia.

The film moves through Vitale Barberis Canonico’s production facilities, observing textile processes as living systems. Machinery, fibers, and gestures are captured with the same attention reserved for fashion imagery, emphasizing precision and innovation.

Tradition and technology coexist naturally within the same visual rhythm.

Menswear garments appear as part of this material landscape. Models wearing unisex pieces designed by PDA are integrated through multi-exposure sequences, allowing fabric, body, and movement to overlap.

Garments are not presented as finished objects, but as evolving forms shaped by textile knowledge.

Tailoring gestures and construction details are revealed through close-ups and layered compositions. Hands, tools, and fabric interactions reinforce the relationship between material and form, connecting industrial production with artisanal sensitivity.

These moments bring physicality and tactility into the cinematic narrative.

The film adopts an abstract and experimental visual approach. Multi-exposure techniques, fragmentary editing, and controlled rhythm create a dialogue between archive material, production imagery, and fashion.
