Re/cashmere. Old to New. A cinematic project about cashmere regeneration.
Re/cashmere presents regeneration as a long-term approach to clothing, not a trend. The idea runs from recovering valuable fibres to designing cashmere garments intended to stay in a wardrobe beyond a single season.
The interesting part was what regeneration made possible. Recovering fibres was the beginning of the story. Their value became easier to understand when the material returned as clothing.
The film moved freely between design, production and the finished garments. These three parts of the story unfolded without a fixed order, keeping the clothes connected to the ideas and work that shaped them.
The production footage gave that idea substance. Seeing the cashmere being broken down and prepared for reuse made regeneration visible, grounding the film in the work required to make it happen.
Design carried the project further. The collection was conceived around comfort, versatility and use beyond a single season. Sketches and garment development connected the recovered material to those intentions.
The cashmere garments appeared in everyday settings, worn with an ease that suited the collection. The film left room to imagine them becoming part of a wardrobe, with attention on how they could be lived in.
The film gave a technical process a place in a fashion story. Its value could be understood through the finished cashmere garments, bringing regeneration closer to the people who might wear them.
